The track network comprises lightweight, mainly elevated tracks, intersections, access points and an automatic control system.
Track design loading need only be about the same as pedestrian footbridges - 1/3 ton per metre.
Only two types of intersection are required: where two tracks merge into one, and where one track divides into two.
Each entry access point will have bays where each vehicle has its destination electronically read, and an acceleration lane along which the vehicles are then accelerated before automatically merging with the on-track traffic stream.
Exit points have deceleration lanes onto which vehicles de-merge before slowing in readiness to join conventional road traffic.
Access points will be a half to one mile apart in city centres and up to twenty-five miles apart in country areas.
